LGR Blerbs
США
Добавлен 6 янв 2020
Unscripted rambling videos about whatever I'm interested in at the moment of recording. These are not deeply researched, highly edited, or have much effort put into them at all. And that is the point of Blerbs.
LGR is my other channel with more substantial videos: ruclips.net/user/LazyGameReviews

Testing a 1961 Speakerphone! Model 880 by Automatic Electric
Found this nifty 1960s speaker phone and had to pick it up! This is the Automatic Electric Executive Type 880 speakerphone from the 60s, a rotary telephone with a built-in mic and external speaker for making conference calls. Don Draper would approve.
Here's the technical journal I showed: www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/browse/document-repository/catalogs-manuals/automatic-electric/aetj-ae-technical-journal/13243-ae-tech-journal-feb61-p232-new-speakerphone-executive-model-880-tci-ocr/file

nuqneH! Taking a look at this 80s(?) Klingon keyboard holder device. Which is really just a couple of plastic antlers that adhere to the side of a monitor to make a keyboard stand, ha. Testing with an IBM Model M as the company intended!

Absurd Shareware Art from the Troubled Wiz Technology

Yeah I kinda forgot I had all these DOS games. So let's admire their weirdness! Released in the 1990s by Wiz Technology Inc, which the Los Angeles Times called "a troubled supplier of discount software" after they went bankrupt following years of financial sketchiness. That is an insane amount of flex on a very expensive keyboard
Charlie's Angels looking speaker
I LOVE the metal case! But I'm worried that board flexing will cause it to fail after a few years. Still it looks very like something a beehive-haired cigarette smoking secretary would be furiously typing on in front of a beeping amber screen monitor. And I adore the look, but I'm afraid it doesn't justify the price.
So much incredible stuff. I could walk around and let these people explain all their cool things for days.
I half expected Cuba Baion to start playing at some point.
5:33 No matter how nice it is I doubt I would ever want a daily keyboard without a numpad, sometimes you just need to punch in a bunch of numbers and it's so awkward and slow on the top row. And just as I typed that I remembered you can get seperate numpads so maybe I shouldn't rule out smaller keyboards without them...
Oh dang! I still have my WolfClaw Keyboard
How did I miss Clint dropping the best dark ambient song of 2022?
Ahh, i miss working at the Asheville airport. Used to work those two gates when they had jetbridges and had Continental and Northwest. Do not miss the summer camp traffic.
Nerds rulles !
I would love a green monochrome monitor just to play Prince of Persia. Heck I would never turn it off.
I sold the museum a ton of stuff few years ago for there wisdom tree/color dream collection. God i miss that stuff.
2:55 Can’t help but think & comment that on a plane would be a FUN time to watch that only Steven King movie *The Langoliers* honestly! ❤ Love that movie and being on a plane while watching a good (to me) plane based movie on one would be a blast 😁 🍿
12:07 is that the 8-bits guy in blue t-shirt?
You got fleeced..
Interesting movie premise: The Walking Dead meets LGR and that whole bleepshow starts next time you go to a VCF. :) Your return flight didn't have a door plug blow out on you, that's a plus.
Did LGR get pranked by a keyboard company? (i.e. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY) Everything about this product stinks- even the font aesthetic on the label packaging (someone has delusions of grandeur about their design skills) ... Man, I would love to see Chyrosran22 rage-review this POS... 😂
Old cars and Computers tend to go hand in hand. My favourite channels are LGR ,Vice Grip Garage,8-Bit Guy and Techmoan.
Oh, man, the MiniDisc room... my wallet hurts just looking at this. BTW the MD110 is a MD Data drive.
Genuinely curious where you live that is SO green!? <3
Honestly IRL streams from you would be fun to watch
Southwest seems my speed, not as crowded LOTS to see. Midwest seems chaotic and cramped. I've only been to VCF East, and it was honestly a bit boring and musty.
37:54 what is that video!?
that was a pretty good computer at its time, the usb card probably mean they bought one of those new fangled webcams..or a scanner...scanners was hot stuff when it came out...so you could scan your pictures and email it to people who didnt need it
All ways fined the 60's and 70's device design super cool.
More keyboard videos, please! If that's something within your interests, of course. My fav vids of yours have always been the ones where you're unbridled-ly passionate about the topic at hand, even when I myself don't have an interest, e.g. your Fallout 4 video was what compelled me to make my first dive into that game! Back to the keyboard, it's unfortunate that it was a little underwhelming and so expensive... Looked great from the thumbnail.
wow so cool computers thank you for taking us along
48:22, so glad to see LGR Eats make it's fated return(I have been waiting patiently)
480p looks amazing on CRT monitors because the technology is way different. It will never look good on 4K monitors because there simply isn't enough graphical information to fill up the screen without it looking pixelated. Same thing with 720p, without any upscaling it will just show blocks of pixels.
When I saw all the design elements on the bottom and the back I immediately thought "ok it seems like this project has been generated almost entirely by AI algorithms". Nothing makes sense, and has that AI taste to it.
$250 and its a buy cause its unique. Have they looked at the keyboard market budget is winning the race.
10:30 BALLS OF STEEL
Good to see you flew in an Airbus
It was very good to see The Usborne Book Of The Future on the shelf behind you. I hope you love your copy as much as I love mine.
I'm surprised you've never heard of NeverLock and Rawcopy. They sort of occupied this little niche of "Meant to defeat checks on games you already own." but we all know what it was really used for.
My dogs started barking and crying at 6:05 😂
Reminded me of Charlie's Angels
Dangit! That was right here and I missed it!
PC Magazines - The Big Ones - Were well over half as adverts rather than editorial
Scammers!!!! 100%!!!!
"Test Drive 5 is a choice." I laughed out loud at that!
Not seeing any Compaq portable's ? Nice vid!!
lol
The old E Machine at 47 minutes is same as i had and yes with the dial up internet of the late 90s it was not good lol it was cool to be able to sort of stream video but streaming a 250p video that was only 2 minutes in length used to take longer than the actual videos length LOL I remember when we finally got Broadband iin the UK and were getting speeds of over 4mb a second that made a huge difference being able to actually stream 720p videos was amazing in the early 00s
that board flex was gross, holy hell.
I did a road trip out to VCFSW last year, and it was a blast. Glad to see you made it out there, wish I could have returned this year. I go to as many VCFs a year as I can fit into my work schedule, and they do not disappoint. Sad we missed you at East, hope to see you there some time in the future. Going back to West this year.
Roll 1 and 2 are for hiding your dope in.
Wow colour screen 640 x 480 I'm guessing. My second 'puter was similar. My first was an XT with a monochrome green monitor. DOS 3.something. Not sure if the sounds are soothing though. Nostalgic might be a better adjective.
@17:40 oh hey a CRT i can still hear. the sound of youth
Love these vlogs and even more so how you end them. Taking us with you to the nature park, noice! :D
